International Crystal Co., Inc., was founded by Michael Leach and Bob Akrish in 1988 for the purpose of making crystal point jewelry and healing stones. Bob had the vision of crystal jewelry going mainstream and by the end of a long drive to California had Michael convinced and buying a ticket to South Korea. Bob sourced the rough material and Michael stayed in South Korea overseeing stone cutting and jewelry production. Both worked the show circuits, mainly International Gem & Jewelry Shows, Gemfaires, Quartzite and the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show. After a few years, Bob went on to brokering rough stone, designing and manufacturing jewelry and many interesting projects. He travels extensively in Africa and Asia. Michael kept International Crystal and during the mid to late 1990's left much of the management to Jim Bastone and spent time in India, Nepal and Europe. Bob is still in Seattle where he is legendary for his ability to come up with hot items at great prices. There are Bob sitings at local markets and gatherings. Michael moved to Texas where he is managing International Crystal. Both are grateful to their friends in Korea for their trust and support, and to the many loyal customers who helped make International Crystal what it is. |
